How do I set up my register for the SNAP soda and candy rules?

Most registers have an EBT or SNAP eligible setting on each item or department. Stores in states with a SNAP food restriction switch it off for the items their state restricts. Register makers say they do not decide which items your state restricts, and most states give no item list, so the owner has to work out each item.

A quick way: export your item list from the register's back office, drop it into Uncheck with your state picked, and get every item marked, the departments where every item is restricted, and a fix list file sorted by mark. Oklahoma publishes a barcode file you can add; Montana and North Dakota send one on request.
