What photos do I need for a shipping carrier damage claim?
A UPS claims guide lists photos of all sides of the outer box, the inner packing, the damaged item, and a close-up of the shipping label with the tracking number readable. It also lists proof of value, such as the invoice or order confirmation, and says to keep all the packing until the claim is closed because UPS may want to inspect it.
The weak point is that the customer has the box, not you. Get the evidence from the customer while it is fresh: send a link, have them film the label, box and damage live, and keep the dated pack with your order record.
Exhibit makes that link and gives you a PDF with each frame, the time it was taken, and the clip.
